WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) -- The Utah Grizzlies have called the state home for 30 years, and now they are bidding farewell to Utah.

In an email to ABC4, officials with the Maverik Center confirmed that the team will be relocating to New Jersey following the 2025-26 season. The statement adds, "The Grizzlies will be ready to play at Maverik Center for the 2025-26 season, and hopefully it will be a successful season."

The team moved to Utah from Colorado in 1995, and moved in to the Maverik Center, then called the E Center, in 1997. During their tenure in Utah, the Grizzlies won the Turner Cup in the 1995-96 season in the IHL, and played in the league until it folded in 2001. The team played in the AHL for four seasons before moving to the ECHL, where they have played since 2005.
