WASHINGTON — A salmonella outbreak linked to ready-to-eat meals from a home delivery service has sickened 16 people across multiple states, federal health officials said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it is investigating the outbreak linked to Metabolic Meals, a subscription-based home delivery service that specializes on macro nutrition and low carb eating. The CDC said the company is cooperating with investigators to find the source of the salmonella outbreak and has contacted those who purchased the affected products.

The outbreak extends across 10 states and seven people have been hospitalized. According to the CDC, illnesses started on dates ranging from July 24, 2025, to August 15, 2025.
