TAZEWELL COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - Tazewell County received over $265,000 in federal grant money Monday to help its polling places become more ADA-compliant.

The money will be split between four different polling places and Tazewell Count itself:

Marquette Heights — $105,000

Mackinaw — $80,000

Creve Coeur — $26,000

Sand Prairie -$20,000

Tazewell County - $34,000 to purchase 54 new ADA-compliant polling booths, touch-screen monitors

Tazewell County Clerk and Recorder of Deeds John C. Ackerman said the investment will help ensure everyone has an opportunity to do their civic duty.
