WINTON, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A husky was rescued over the weekend after he was found tied up in the back of a man's truck.
On Saturday morning, animal services arrived at a house along the 7400 block of Winton Way after receiving a report of a man who had slapped and tied up his dog.
On scene, animal services officers found a grey and white Husky lying in the bed of a truck with its legs tied together. The husky was taken to a local veterinary hospital, where it was reported he did not have serious injuries.
With the help of a Merced County Sheriff's deputy, animal services officers located the suspect, who deputies identified as 58-year-old Martin Alcaraz. He was arrested on animal cruelty-related charges and booked into the Merced County Sheriff's Office Jail.
