DARWIN, Minn. — Editor’s note: This story originally aired on March 30, 2018. A year later, at age 18, Ryley Pollock became a Meeker County reserve deputy.
Ryley went on to become an EMT for the ambulance services in both Granite Falls and Olivia. He's also the administrative and child support supervisor for Renville County, overseeing a 16-person department.
Ryley tells KARE 11 he still carries a first aid kit in his personal car, just in case.
Thanks to Ryley’s lifesaving efforts, Tom Geislinger continues to enjoy life with his family. Told that Ryley is now an EMT, Tom said, "As far as I'm concerned, he was an EMT seven years ago."
