LOS ANGELES — More than 2,000 actors, directors and other film industry professionals have signed a pledge refusing to work with Israeli film institutions they say are "implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people," according to a statement released Monday.

The pledge, organized by Film Workers for Palestine, includes Academy Award, Emmy and BAFTA winners such as actors Olivia Colman, Mark Ruffalo, Ayo Edebiri, Tilda Swinton and Javier Bardem, as well as directors Ava DuVernay, Yorgos Lanthimos and Adam McKay.

"In this urgent moment of crisis, where many of our governments are enabling the carnage in Gaza, we must do everything we can to address complicity in that unrelenting horror," the pledge reads.
