CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Today marks the 66th anniversary of 12 Black students desegregating Charlottesville City Schools in 1959.

The General Assembly is making sure that moment is never forgotten. In a new proclamation, Sept. 8 is now officially Charlottesville 12 Day.
