SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Monday, Sept. 8, the Sioux City School Board discussed a lease agreement allowing Verizon to build a cell phone tower at one of the district’s elementary schools.
Back in May , Verizon Wireless approached the Sioux City School District to explore a potential land lease option for a stealth cell phone tower at Perry Creek Elementary. That’s a smaller tower that blends in with the surroundings.
Monday, the board held a public hearing during their meeting to discuss the lease and ultimately vote to approve the lease of the land.
Verizon plans to put the stealth cell phone tower west of Perry Creek Elementary’s main parking lot, along with an access road and private fence around the tower.
