WYOMING, Mich. — Members of the Godfrey-Lee school district community in Wyoming say they are outraged after they learned five school employees were laid off two weeks ago.

Jailene Rodas-Sandoval read letters written to her from her former students in front of the large crowd gathered for Monday night’s Godfrey Lee School District meeting.

“I was told by two people that I was that I had never talked to before and that I was being let go," Rodas-Sandoval said. "I wish somebody else would have told me, somebody else that I actually had a connection with.”

She and several administrators were let go due to budget constrictions, according to Superintendent Arnetta Thompson.
