Illicit drug use in Tasmania has soared, prompting a new crackdown from police and Crime Stoppers on postal traffickers.
The latest National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Report shows ice, cocaine, ecstasy, and heroin use increased 50 per cent in Tasmania in the last year.
The national rise was 34 per cent.
Ice is the most common illegal drug, by weight, accounting for almost two-thirds of captured substances.
As part of Crime Stoppers Week 2025, general manager of Crime Stoppers Tasmania Aldo Antolli has urged the public to help "break the scourge" of illegal trafficking of drugs and other illegal items through the postal system.
Mr Aldo said most illegal substances are manufactured off-island and brought into Tasmania through various means, including mail .
"The tips we receive from
