The Tulsa World wants to increase the number of student voices within our pages.
Applications are open for the Tulsa World Youth Advisory Board, which lets local teenagers advise editors and write op-eds.
Here are the details on the Tulsa World Youth Advisory Board:
It’s open for freshmen to seniors in Tulsa schools.
This is not a journalism training program, and no writing experience is required.
Members will advise editors about priorities in the community.
They will write regular essays published in print and online.
It is an opportunity for teens to offer their perspectives, improve communication skills and gain leadership experience.
The board will meet for an hour twice a month to hear from community leaders and work on issue-oriented writing projects.
