A man who was repeatedly stabbed before he died was "angry", intoxicated and "asking for a baseball bat" to "smash Luke Shaw", a Tasmanian Supreme Court has heard.

Brothers Luke Anthony Shaw, 33, and Paul William Shaw, 35, along with Patrick Kenneth Dolbey, 40, are on trial in the Launceston Supreme Court for the murder of David Wayne Jenkins at George Town in October 2022.

Witness Crystal Maree Davidson told the court Mr Jenkins was her best friend.

Speaking on day two of the trial, Ms Davidson said she saw Mr Jenkins on the day he died, first at a friend's house, then later when he came to her home "asking for a baseball bat".
