TEXAS, USA — Forbes released its annual list of the 400 richest people in America, and North Texas was well-represented (again).

Texas accounted for 43 of the 400 spots, including 18 of those in DFW. According to Forbes , the combined wealth of the Forbes 400 is $6.6 trillion, $1.2 trillion more than last year. Forbes also said that 10 years ago, the threshold to crack the Forbes 400 was $1.7 billion. That mark is now $3.8 billion. Last year, the minimum net worth was $3.3 billion .

Walmart heiress Alice Walton remains No. 1 in DFW with $160 billion. The world's richest man, Elon Musk, who also spends part of his time living in Texas, recorded a net worth of $428 billion, a 75% increase from last year ($244 billion).
