SAN FRANCISCO—Mission Cabins, which were 60 tiny homes on 16th Street and Mission Street at 1979 Mission Street, is closing down to make room for affordable housing, after opening 18 months earlier in April 2024.
According to its website, it housed 68 adults. There were 52 single cabins and eight double cabins for couples, and pets were welcome. The cabin village is low barrier for people to access housing with care.
One resident, Antrinette Jenkins, moved in May 2024 as one of its first residents, and now she is the last to leave. Before she moved into Mission Cabins, she was homeless living on the streets of Mission District.
