CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A run in Cleveland is remembering the events of 9/11 while also honoring other fallen heroes.
“This is a chance to honor so many veterans, service members, and civilians who lost their lives on 9/11, a chance for healing. As you walk down the pathway here, you can hear a lot of the discussions of people trying to talk through various issues. It’s a chance to educate,” said race director Ganpat Wagh.
The Heroes Race is hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation and includes over 100 runs across the country.
The event fundraises for the veteran services organization, people participating in the 5K helping with the fundraising efforts along the way.
At the start, part of the route is lined with U.S. flags, 605 of them.
