Justin Carbonneau chose one path for his future. His play will dictate the next one.

Carbonneau, the Blues’ 2025 first-round pick, signed his entry-level contract on Wednesday afternoon, a prelude to this weekend’s prospect tournament in Minnesota, the start of training camp next week and NHL exhibition games shortly after that. Carbonneau will play in the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase because of his decision to return to junior hockey in Blainville-Boisbriand in the QMJHL instead of playing NCAA hockey at Boston College.
