JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - American Legion Mountain Post hosted its annual 9/11 Patriots Day Ceremony at Memorial Park to honor heroes who put their lives on the line every day.

The ceremony honored the anniversary of 9/11 and those who died by ringing a bell, a wreath-laying ceremony, and playing taps.

Legion Commander, Mary Engleman, said 9/11 is a day of remembrance and honor.

"9/11 is to honor all the veterans, all the first responders, all the police department, the fire department, EMS that have sacrificed on a regular basis."

Retired Colonel and 9/11 Iraq/Afghanistan Combat Veteran, Rob Campbell, said the lives lost will never be forgotten.
