SMITH COUNTY, Texas — The Smith County Sheriff's Office has captured the person responsible for vandalizing a Jesus statue at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint.

The person has been identified as 36-year-old Jordan Clark of Flint.

According to the sheriff's office, Clark emerged as a possible suspect on Sept. 10.

"Through further investigation, Smith County Investigators were able to establish probable cause, and an arrest warrant affidavit was presented to the Honorable 114th State District Judge Reeve Jackson," a SCSO press release said. "After reviewing the affidavit, Judge Jackson issues a warrant for the arrest of Jordan Clark for the criminal offense of Criminal Mischief Place of Worship (State Jail Felony) with a bond set at $400,000."
