BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - We may be back to a summer feel, but autumn allergy season is right on track and doesn’t look to let up any time soon.

Ragweed plants spent the past few months growing and maturing, now, they are in full bloom. A single ragweed plant can produce up to one billion grains of pollen that act as irritants to allergy sufferers statewide.

With the prevalence of ragweed across the Lone Star State, pollen counts have skyrocketed over the past several days. Elevated levels blanket most of the state, with the lowest counts hugging the coastline. The majority of the Brazos Valley finds itself highlighted in red in the map below, but southern counties with higher humidity have slightly lower counts.
