PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Evergreen Public Schools will hold classes on Friday after the union voted to ratify the proposed contract on Thursday night.

The vote comes after the support staff union had been on strike for more than two weeks, delaying the start of school. The strike has now ended, according to EPS.

"I am so happy to confirm that classes in Evergreen Public Schools will begin tomorrow, September 12. The PSE Large Group classified union informed us tonight that its members have approved the contract that their leaders agreed to late Wednesday," said EPS Superintendent Dr. Christine Moloney, in a statement.

The school district is creating a plan for the students who missed 12 instructional days during the union's strike. Though the immediate focus will be on bringing students
