STEPHENSON CO., Ill. (KWQC) - A judge will decide if the man charged in a Savanna officer-involved shooting is fit to stand trial on Friday.
Mark Feltmeyer is accused of ramming several squad cars and sending multiple officers to the hospital in a three-county police chase in June.
He also faces several other charges from unrelated cases in Stephenson County. He has a fitness trial in a felony theft case as well.
A person is considered unfit for trial if they are unable to understand court proceedings or help in their own defense because of a mental health condition.
If the judge finds Feltmeyer unfit, his trial will be suspended, and he will get treatment and fitness training through the Illinois Department of Human Services.
