(KRON) -- An arson suspect was arrested after their shoe prints matched those found near the scene of multiple grass fires set on Sept. 6, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

GPD said a patrol officer was waved down just before 8:30 p.m. and notified of "a large fire" near the north end of the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle.

More officers soon responded to the location and discovered several vegetation blazes in the area. Gilroy Fire arrived to help extinguish the flames, confirmed Gilroy police.

A suspect, later identified as Adrian Lopez, 39, was seen walking in the area by a Gilroy police patrol officer.
