GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A solemn day of remembrance in the heart of Grand Rapids, 24 years after the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history.
Tipothy Waldron was one of many scouts who honored the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11, as part of the statewide ‘Scout Salutes’ event, with the Grand Rapids one being held in front of the Gerald R. Ford Museum.
“I wasn't alive when the attacks happened, but it's, for me, really important to keep the memory of them alive,” Waldron said.
The event was attended by both Grand Rapids Fire Chief Brad Brown and Police Chief Eric Winstrom, both of whom remembered the bravery of the first responders on that day.
