TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Town of Oracle has received some helpful visitors for the next few days helping clean up months after the devastating Cody Fire.

The sound of chainsaws Thursday morning was the noise Mark Ramirez has been waiting for.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything better and they’re not charging us a cent,” Ramirez said.

Dozens of volunteers from across the country on Team Rubicon have begun scattering around Oracle, helping victims of the Cody Fire back in May that devastated 6 homes.

The fire consumed over 1,200 acres and impacted water access to residents of Oracle.

“One of the buildings here on our property was totally destroyed,” Ramirez said.

Eventually, they’ll get to demolish the remains of burned buildings but they’re starting with the charred lands
