The E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues will begin its 37th season next week, exploring the challenges of loneliness and the importance of social connection.
A collaboration between the Cooper Foundation, the Lied Center for Performing Arts and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the E.N. Thompson Forum will kick off its speaker series with Vivek Murthy, former U.S. surgeon general, on Oct. 14 at the Lied Center.
The 2025-26 season, co-sponsored by the Lincoln Community Foundation and the UNL College of Business, is titled "Belonging: Finding Connection in a Lonely World."
A Cooper Conversation will mark the first event of the season on Sept. 18 in the Nebraska Union's Swanson Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.
