It's been a bad year for national parks and wildfires.

The embers of the Dragon Bravo Fire just recently extinguished on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park after destroying iconic structures like the Grand Canyon Lodge and North Rim Visitor Center .

Meanwhile, the Garnet Fire is currently raging in Sierra National Forest , burning groves of ancient sequoias, some up to 3,000 years old. The impact on air quality can be felt throughout the mountains and in Yosemite National Park itself.

Now, another national park is in the crosshairs. North Cascades National Park in Washington is facing an onslaught of lightning strike-related fires. The trio of fires is forcing a variety of closures to campsites, trails, and lake access points.
