The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are upon us, with Severance , The Penguin , The Studio and The White Lotus sweeping this year’s nominations , with almost 100 nods between them.

In some respects, this year’s picks were entirely predictable: comedy and drama category stalwarts such as Abbott Elementary , The Bear , Hacks , Only Murders in the Building and The White Lotus were well represented.
