The swift conclusion to the incursion by more than a dozen Russian drones into Poland this week is that that these provocations are more than likely to be repeated, and that Nato must do more to prevent this. “Nato must build its anti drone wall,” suggests the Polish foreign minister, Radek Sikorski.
The debate still rages about whether the Russian drone invasion was by accident or design. Either way, it could mark a dramatic and unpredictable widening of the conflict in Ukraine. Russia now has the Nato allies of the region – the Baltics, Poland and Finland, especially – in its sights.
