A mixed yarding drew big price fluctuations at the annual West Wyalong/Temora district first-cross ewe sale at West Wyalong on September 12.

About 1850 ewes were yarded with prices reaching $495 a head, up from $328 at last year's sale, but other pens drew limited interest and were passed in under the hammer.

Paul Quade, Quade Moncrieff Livestock and Property, West Wyalong, said it was a mixed sale and noted the price did vary.

"There probably wasn't quite as much weight in the yarding as last year, just because of the late break and the tougher season," he said.
