Downton Abbey : The Grand Finale hits cinemas today (September 12), with many heading to watch the film over the weekend, following the London and New York premieres and Elizabeth McGovern opened up about the movie .

This is the third movie in the franchise, following on from Downton Abbey (2019) and Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022).

The big screen outings come after the phenomenally successful ITV series, which ran from 2010 to 2015.
