Local hotelier Sina Hospitality launches travel company aimed at region’s sports tourism market

A local hotel operator is making a play for a bigger piece of the Richmond area’s sports tourism business.

Sina Hospitality this week launched 804 Travel, which helps out-of-town youth sports teams coordinate local accommodations when competing in tournaments in the region. The organization works on behalf of the teams to find available hotel rooms and negotiate reduced room rates.

Behind 804 Travel is Ravi Patel, who is also CEO of Sina, which continues to operate as a separate company.

804 Travel is trying to set itself apart from similar competing firms with a staff that has a background in hotel operations, which Patel said would make for a better experience for clients.
