Members of the Jefferson County Veterans Association presented a plaque on Sept. 3 to Stephanie Pethtel, proprietor of A Touch of Elegance bakery. The plaque expresses the association’s appreciation for the bakery’s 10 consecutive years of supporting veterans through donations toward its annual veteran’s picnic. Taking part in the presentation were, Pethtel, front; and back, from left, Commander Frank Santa, Adjutant Barry Bardone, 2025 Veteran of the Year Michelle Hedgecoke, Tom Hutkay, Finance Officer Tony Phillippi, Butch Garcia, George Harrah, Vice Commander Fred Tarr and National Executive Committee for Disabled American Veterans member Jim Bailey.
