The Skyline Room was a fitting spot for Wednesday afternoon’s fête.

Located on the sixth floor of the Museum of Science, the floor-to-ceiling windows provided those fortunate enough to be in attendance with a stunning vantage point from which to admire Boston, the Charles River, Cambridge and the lands beyond; a view of places ruled 50 years earlier by a baseball team that captured the attention and adoration of the region, and whose hold on their hearts remains firm to this day.

Members of that decorated team were on hand to celebrate the exhibit about their magical season, which is on display at the Museum of Science for a month and at the nearby New England Sports Museum for the foreseeable future.
