ESCALATING COSTS Construction mishaps create DPW headaches

TRAVERSE CITY — A spate of recent construction mishaps is ramping up the workload for county public works staff — and the costs to the public for the investigations and repairs.

The Grand Traverse County Department of Public Works responded to at least four recent construction-related damage incidents to county water and sewer lines — all in Garfield Township — that were discussed Thursday by the county Board of Public Works.
