A yellow weather warning for strong winds has now been expanded as forecasters have warned gales of up to 70mph could batter the coast. Lasting for a total of 22 hours, the warning will be in effect from 8pm on Sunday (September 14) until 6pm on Monday (September 15).

Originally covering primarily eastern and southern areas of Kent , the warning has now been expanded to blanket the entire county. Forecasters have advised coastal regions will be first affected on Sunday, with strong gales sweeping inland during Monday morning.

Gusts of 45-55mph are expected widely inland, with speeds of 60-70mph possible at times along exposed coasts and hills. As such, there are likely to be delays to road, rail, air and ferry travel while the warning is in effect, as well as disruption to public transp
