A Waterloo teen has been arrested for allegedly using a machete to steal a woman’s hat, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 17 year old Shantoriana Evans is being charged as an adult with first degree Robbery and Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury. Evans is accused of attacking 27 year old Amaris Spates with the machete outside Jim’s Foods around 10:40 on the night of August 31 st . Spates suffered a cut on her arm and Evans allegedly took her hat. Not long after the alleged attack Evans posted a photo to social media with the machete in one hand and Spates’ hat in the other with the caption, “this look familiar.” Evans is being held on a $70,000 bond.
