Central Pennsylvania residents can expect a stretch of unusually warm and dry weather this weekend, with temperatures potentially reaching nearly 90 degrees on Saturday in southern areas.
A persistent high-pressure system will maintain clear skies and increasingly warm temperatures across the region. Daytime highs will climb from the mid-70s on Friday to near 90 degrees in southern Franklin County by Saturday, with even northern mountain valleys approaching 80 degrees.
The National Weather Service warns residents to prepare for the unusual heat and low humidity. Minimum relative humidity levels will drop into the 30s, which can quickly lead to dehydration.
Outdoor activities should include proper hydration, sun protection, and breaks from direct sunlight during the warmest afternoon hou
