Stabbin’ Wagon, a nonprofit that provides clean syringes and drug overdose prevention supplies, has filed a civil rights suit against the city of Medford and Medford police, alleging retaliation and politically motivated surveillance and enforcement.

The suit, filed Thursday in federal court in Medford, follows a separate suit filed last year against the city and police in state court.

The latest suit alleges that Medford police increased scrutiny of the nonprofit and its founders as it gained attention for its public health outreach in the city and its public criticism of police on social media.
