ALVARADO, Minn. – They’re off and running.

A new nonprofit organization aimed at getting more kids in Minnesota and North Dakota outside hunting and fishing held its inaugural fundraiser last Saturday, Sept. 6.

Some 30 ATVs and UTV side-by-side vehicles, about 70 people in all, participated in MinnDak Youth Outdoors’ ATV/UTV Fun Run. The event, which was headquartered at the Lightning Bar in Alvarado, included stops in Warren, Argyle, Stephen and Oslo before returning to Alvarado for gun raffles, meat raffles, a 50/50 drawing and raffles for numerous other prizes, including a smoker and a Blackstone grill.
