ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Mosaic Film Festival returns to Rockford this weekend, showcasing over 70 films from around the world at the Nordloff Center.

The festival, now in its 18th year, kicks off on Friday and features a diverse lineup across five categories: documentaries, narratives, animation, music videos, and experimental films. Screenings begin at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the weekend, offering something for every film enthusiast.

"These are films you're probably not gonna find on your own," said the festival director, Jerry LaBuy. "The programmers do a very good job of finding stuff that's interesting and beautiful and just fun to watch."

By curating a selection of films from various genres and styles, the festival aims to bring a rich cinematic experience to Rockford.
