Lincoln Township is seeking a state grant to help pay for a trail along South Roosevelt Road.
Congressman Tim Walberg last year helped secure a $1.5 million federal allocation for a project to build a 10-foot-wide shared use path from Hidden Pines to Marquette Woods Road. However, construction has been delayed because bids came in substantially higher than the original estimates, partly because of the need to build a bridge over Hickory Creek.
Township Supervisor Glenn Youngsetdt tells us there have been all kinds of snags in this effort.
