NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho — A white-tailed buck was left to waste in North Idaho - now Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) officers are trying to put the pieces together.
According to a news release from IDFG , the deer appears to have been shot at night around 8 p.m. on Sept. 6, with the hunter using a spotlight and a high-caliber rifle. The buck was shot and left to waste on Woodside Road, south of Winchester Lake State Park.
IDFG adds that no attempt was made to recover or take any portions of the deer meat.
Conservation officers are investigating.
