MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - For the second time this week, Multnomah County search and rescue crews were called out for a missing hiker in the Columbia River Gorge.
Multnomah County’s Green Hornets, a team of deputies who are experienced outdoors people and have advanced search and rescue skills, began searching Thursday evening to try and find a missing 72-year-old man.
The sheriff’s office says the man became separated from his wife while they were hiking at Multnomah Falls. The woman made it down to the lodge but her husband didn’t and she hadn’t seen him for hours.
At about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, there were two separate search teams out looking for the man.
Officials say that at about 12:20 a.m. on Friday that the missing man had been found. He was found in the safe, uninjured
