A man who has been missing for more than a year may have been found at the bottom of a Wyoming lake, The Associated Press reports.

Wesley Dopkins, 43, of St. Paul, Minn., was last seen on June 15, 2024, kayaking on Jackson Lake from Elk Island to Waterfalls Canyon on the west shore, according to Grand Teton National Park officials. He was not wearing a life jacket. After his disappearance, his foldable kayak, paddle and drag bag were found floating on the lake, AP reports. An extensive search did not locate him.

On Sunday, a nonprofit search and recovery group found the body, recovering it on Monday from a depth of about 420 feet, AP reports. Official identification is pending but the location and characteristics of the body suggest it is Dopkins, the local coroners office said.
