SAN ANTONIO — A very special journey took off from the San Antonio International Airport Friday morning.
20 veterans will land in Washington, D.C. to tour National monuments around our nation’s capital as a well-deserved thank you for their service.
The flight took off just after 5 a.m. and for the first time all 20 veterans on board are those who served in Vietnam.
In addition to the tour of National monuments, they’ll also stop by the U.S. Army Women’s Museum because one of the people on the flight is a woman who was a nurse during the Vietnam war.
There’s also a woman who’s about to turn 100 years old on this flight. Before takeoff, the veterans wished her a happy birthday as they boarded.
This is a special flight for these veterans. Honor Flight S.A. Executive Director and Veteran
