Maryland State Police have arrested and charged a Brandywine man after a motorist reported their vehicle was shot multiple times during a road-rage encounter in Prince George’s County.

36-year-old Michael Larrell Green of Brandywine, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and use of a firearm in a felony crime, police said.

He is being held at the Prince George’s County Division of Corrections pending an initial appearance before a District Court commissioner.

Troopers said they received a 10:20 p.m. emergency call on Sept. 9 reporting that a motorcyclist opened fire on a vehicle on southbound Route 5, also known as Branch Avenue, near Surratts Road.

The case was investigated by the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative.
