A tropical wave is located near the west coast of Africa, producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms across the far eastern Atlantic. Environmental conditions appear favorable for some gradual development over the next several days.
The National Hurricane Center says a tropical depression could form by the middle of next week as the system tracks west to west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
