Authorities have a suspect in custody believed to have fatally shot right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk.

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested at 10 p.m. on Thursday after allegedly confessing to the crime to family members, who told a family friend that informed the local sheriff's office.

Robinson was apprehended after a 33 hour manhunt following the shocking assassination of Kirk while he spoke at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University, put together by his organization Turning Point USA.

Two people were briefly apprehended soon after the shooting on Sept. 10 but were quickly released without charges. President Donald Trump, however, said on Fox News Friday morning that authorities have a "high degree of certainty" regarding Robinson's alleged involvement.
