A gruesome murder occurred at a Dallas motel, where a Cuban national, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez , allegedly beheaded motel manager Chandra Nagamallaiah with a machete. The incident took place at the Downtown Suites motel, and Cobos-Martinez reportedly kicked the manager's head across the parking lot before placing it in the trash.

Cobos-Martinez, who was in the U.S. illegally, had been released from custody earlier this year due to a lack of deportation flights to Cuba. He was under an order of supervision from the Bluebonnet Detention Center. ICE officials stated that the crime could have been prevented if he had not been released.
