IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) —
The University of Iowa is the latest college campus to be targeted in a nationwide trend of swatting attacks.
KCRG reports , the University of Iowa says an employee received an email Thursday morning it describes as “concerning.” Out of an abundance of caution, the University of Iowa locked down impacted offices as police investigated.
University of Iowa Police eventually confirmed there was no credible threat to campus safety and believes the email is connected to a known swatting tactic already being investigated nationally .
The University did not issue a Hawk Alert because there was no confirmation of a threat to the campus.
